Michael Biserta ~ on FIRE.

The New York Fire Department (FDNY) is known for their annual charity calendar and one special fire fighter in particular: MICHAEL BISERTA.

Staten Island fire fighter Michael Biserta made a name for himself by some very over-enthusiastic, fire-hose action on a Guys Gone Wild video. Already a star on the FDNY calendar the scandal made the FDNY decide to stop publishing their famous calendar.

Michael, was the cover man of the 2008 calendar, so he launched into a modeling career.

A while ago I was wandering through a back alley in the Japanese city of Nishinomiya, near Osaka. I saw an interesting and surprising piece of fire fighting technology.

This morning twenty- one Volunteer fire fighters form Barbour County underwent the last hands on training class. These fire fighters are finishing up their Alabama State Fire Fighter Certification School. This morning they underwent the heat and flames of a LIVE burn situation in a controlled environment. Thanks to the Alabama State Fire College for lending the use of one of their live burn trailers.
All of these fire fighters are have volunteered their time to help protect each of their communities and neighbors. Today each one went into the training with one purpose in mind, to learn what it is like inside a burning structure and what to do to deal with the heat, smoke, and darkness.
The following fire departments had someone in the class; Clio, Clayton, Meeksville, Louisville, Elamville, Cowikee White Oak Shores, and Greens Cross Roads. Louisville Volunteer Fire Department Hosted this class

For all parents and those who care for young children. Many children run away from firefighters trying to rescue them – teach them fire safety.

Kids often hide when they’re faced with danger, in a fire this can be life threatening.
Ever seen a firefighter in full gear? It can be pretty intimidating for us adults… even more so for young children.
