What to do when the house catches fire, the escape route, stop, drop and roll…etc? Do you practice the escape routes? How often?
You need to practice and actually set off the alarm while the kids are sleeping so they get used to the sound. Many kids will sleep right through it!
You should probably practice twice a year.
You should have an escape route and a place to meet outside.
You should always help a child under the age of 3 – they cannot be expected to get out by themselves.
I don’t practice, my son is only 18 months old. But I will when he’s older.
I finished Diploma and I like to study Fire engineering courses can any one help regarding this which institute is best in India. If possible give the details or website.

http://twitter.com/chrispirillo – A calendar with firefighters in it tends to be quite hot… literally! Firefighters work very hard, and risk their lives every day. Silver Joa sent in ten fire safety tips to share with all of us. This is a very prudent video for you to watch. You’re surrounded by electronics and other fire hazards every day, so it’s a good idea to keep safety in mind at all times. http://chris.pirillo.com – http://geeks.pirillo.com

I’m taking a fire safety course. I have this word on the tip of my tongue i just can’t think of it. It’s a dual purpose ladder and engine firetruck. Thanks.
I just answered your question on the "First Aid/safety" section.
A quint, or quintuple. My depts been trying to get these for years. They cost over $1M each.

I’ve tried rebuilding my house 7 times, but I have nothing in my house and it still shows its on fire on the meter and I can’t buy anything! Help!
I have tried totally deleting the house too, and everything in it but it still didn’t change. Once I rebuilt the house, it was the same again, the meter was almost 3/4 full before I started building!
I know how to put alarms in and get the fire department there, but I’m trying to get the METER (the one with the red bar that shows how much your house is full to catch on fire)….I’m trying to LOWER that…is there a cheat code or something I’m doing wrong?
Can’t you just delete it? Go to the build mode and delete it totally, then try again.

For those of us who need advice on how to avoid a firey death, but look to YouTube for instant information rather than read about it or ask a fireman. Ahem.
The quality of this song is diabolically bad, and I KNOW that, so no need to tell me.
Also, please note that I don’t care if you dial a different emergency number, so if you feel compelled to tell me that the US dials 911 instead of 999, don’t. I will not praise you for it.
Music is Spanish Flea by Herb Alpert.
::LYRICS::
Now when your house is burning down,
follow these rules now, do not frown,
you must keep close to the floor and close
all the windows and doors now…
Otherwise you will soon die.
Call 999
And if you find you have the time,
ask for the fire brigade and say
that your house has just been slayed…
by the inferno of Hell.
Do not attempt
to have a barbeque inside your cosy bungalow.
This will result in a quite large catastrophe,
so how to put out a fire, you should know.
Generally, use H2O,
that’s water if you did not know,
you should avoid using petrol and
also compressed aerosol cans…
You will end up with no face.
Fire alarms, can come in quite handy
when you’re surrounded by huge flames.
They will alert you when you must make your escape
but if the batteries are dead, you’re to blame…
Do not play with matches or lighters,
they can be quite nasty blighters,
it could mean the difference between death
and one more meaningful breath.
So you must make the right choice.
So remember these lovely rules,
and you will not look like a fool.
All that’s left to say is goodbye friends,
don’t make me tell you again…
Fire is quite harmful.

I know that all new sofas need to have a display stick to show that it is fire resistant. However somebody has told me you need a permanent sticker attached to the body of the sofa. Is this the case or is the display sticker enough?
Sofas & even mattresses have to have this notice since 1996 but it can be removed & should be kept, possibly with guarantee,or you can never sell it on or even donate to charity without this label being shown & given to new owner.I think is is known as a green label
